Yesteryear Collection

Famed the world over for their traditional quality, their wide variety and their Bulldog mascot, MACK trucks began in the early 1900s when ath Mack brothers - who had previously built horse-drawn wagons - produced their first gasoline-powered vehicle, a bus. Since that time, MACK trucks have provided the world with commercial and military trucks as well as fire engines and public works apparatus. It is their reputation for reliability which has endeared MACK trucks to fire departments around the world. In 1910, Mack Trucks received its first order for a fire engine from Morristown, New Jersey. The next year, the town of Cynwyd (now called Bala Cynwyd), which is outside of Philadelphia, commissioned a pumper chassis. Since MACK was - and is - essentially a truck manufacturer, these early MACK fire engines were basically standard truck chassis fitted with a pump. From these first models, MACK carved out its name in the annals of fire fighting apparatus, steadily advancing the technology of its day while remaining firm in its established tradition of solid reliability. Now, the 1911 MACK Fire Engine has been re-created in an authentic die-cast model for The International Fire Engine Collection: The Turn-of-the-Century Edition.
